Turnfront & War Child

War Child works in conflict zones, supporting children who have been affected by war. They work with ex-child soldiers, child prisoners, street children and refugees. I'm very happy to say I'll be working with War Child over the next four and a half months to launch some exciting web projects.

They've has already embraced social media, and they have a really accessible website, so the challenge ahead is to make effective use of these tools to achieve the charity's goals.

War Child operates at the intersection between the NGO space and the music industry space. Given there is a lot of exciting web stuff going on in both of these areas at the moment, the months ahead should be lots of fun.

As Turnfront works with more social-mission organisations, we're keen to share what we learn from this process. I'll be blogging away about how the web can be used for activism and fundraising. On a similar note, I'll be going along to Drupal for NGOs on June 10, both because War Child use Drupal for their website, and also because I'm using it to build Caroline Lucas MEP's website. Hope to see you there, and thanks to Rob for organising the event.
